Over the past month, I have read quite a number of articles on Paypal Fund withdrawal with our local Al Rajhi Bank Visa branded debit card. Some says it is a go and some it is a bust. Then I heard a news from a good client of my whom operating a ecommerce site selling contact lenses online.

He give me a indication that Paypal do works with a Al Rajhi Bank Visa Debit card. With that, I decided to give it a test run on my own. The result, Yes!, I hereby confirm that Paypal withdrawal do works with Al Rajhi Bank Visa Debit card.

The below is the process and steps that I went through to get my money out of my Paypal Account.

Step 1: Applying Al Rajhi Bank Visa Debit Card
Visit Alrajhi bank outlet and apply the Visa branded debit card. Al Rajhi Bank will require you to open a bank account and deposit a minimum amount of RM20. The process is fairly simple and should take about 20 minutes or so.

Unlike Public Bank Visa Electron Debit card, you need to wait about 3 to 4 weeks to get approved and obtain the card. With Al Rajhi Bank you can get the debit card instantly after your bank account is opened.

Once you get your card, Do the usual stuff of changing your PIN and request for an internet PIN over the ATM machine.

Step 2: Activation Al Rajhi Bank Internet Banking
Logon to Al Rajhi Bank website to activate your internet banking facilities. You may skip this part if you do not wish to use the internet banking facilities.

Step 3: Start the Paypal Withdrawal Process
Login to your paypal account. On the My Account summary page, click on “Withdrawal”.

This will bring you to the withdrawal page below. Then click on “Withdraw funds on your card”.

After that key in your debit card details as below:

After the details of the debit card is added, you can withdrawal your amount. See image below.

I do a test withdrawal of USD25 and the process is completed inside Paypal within the same day. See below image.

Step 4: Money in the Bank Account! WaLauEhhhh….
After 4 days or so check on your Al Rajhi Bank account for the completion and details of the transfer.

Summary:

Withdrawal Amount: USD25 - USD 5(Paypal Fees) = USD 20

Actual Amount Received: RM 66.21
(Calculated exchange rare 1USD = 3.3105)

Day Taken: Approximately 4 days.

According to Al Rajhi Bank, you can withdraw the card balance at their own ATM machine at no cost at all. However, if you use it on a local bank (like Maybank, Public Bank, CIMB, RHB, etc.) there will be a RM10 fees per ATM withdrawal. ATM withdrawal using overseas bank(HSBC,Citibank, OCBC, StandChart, etc.) will be based on the fees imposed by their respective bank.

So i suggest you always go back to Al Rahji Bank to do the ATM withdrawal.

That its for now, i need to head on down to the ATM machine now and use some Paypal money for a can or two of beers. Cheers…… :o)
